Castello di Amorosa
After studying medieval architecture in Italy and Europe for 14 years, Dario Sattui formulated his plan to bring a slice of medieval Italy to the Napa Valley in the form of Castello di Amorosa, an authentically-built Tuscan castle and winery located in the hills south of the city of Calistoga. With a diverse team of craftsman from around the world, he brought passion, love commitment in constructing the Castello.
The Castello is situated on a 171 acre hillside property overlooking the Napa Valley and is surrounded by 31 acres of vineyards including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese and Primitivo.
Castello di Amorosa is a family-owned business that produces world-class wines including popular white and red wines as well as proprietary Italian-inspired blends, like Il Barone, La Castellana and Il Passito. All of the Castello’s wine is sold only at the winery.
The castle winery, which opened in 2007, was made with brick, wood and iron imported from Europe and combined with over 8,000 tons of local Napa Valley stone.
