At the California Welcome Center – Santa Rosa, travelers will find the perfect stop for trip planning, insider recommendations, and a relaxing break from the road. Conveniently located in Historic Railroad Square—just off Hwy 101 and Hwy 12—the center is easy to find and surrounded by shops, restaurants, and local charm.
Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are here to provide personalized advice on everything there is to see, do, eat, drink, hike, bike, and explore in Santa Rosa and throughout Sonoma County. Visitors can pick up free local maps, brochures, and guides to help plan their adventures, from wine country tastings to outdoor recreation, family attractions, and cultural experiences.
The Welcome Center itself is housed in a beautifully restored 1900s train depot, which also features the Northwestern Pacific Railroad Museum, complete with historic artifacts and an interactive train display. It’s a fun stop for both kids and history lovers.

Schulz Museum, the California Indian Museum & Cultural Center, Recology & ArtStart, and other local artists and cultural partners. From Peanuts-inspired art and Indigenous storytelling to innovative recycled-material installations, there’s always something new to discover each time you visit.
